This year’s movie soundtracks are a mixed bag of original and borrowed compositions. And some of them do an excellent job bringing narratives to life. We recommend checking out these 2020 soundtracks then decide which one fits the bill.
Birds of Prey: (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)–
The honour goes to this thrilling movie that shows a newly dumped Harley Quinn trying to shape an identity after being dumped by the Joker. Besides the emancipation story, “Bird of Prey’s” soundtrack features an incredible lineup, bursting with energy and chaotic sounds to reflect what’s on the screen. It includes songs such as:
- Doja Cat – Boss Btch
- Whipped Cream – So Thick
- Normani and Megan Thee Stallion – Diamonds
- Galaria and Saweetie – Sway With Me
Bad Boys for Life
Bad Boys is one of those franchises that anyone can revisit with pleasure. It’s an American comedy featuring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. DJ Khalid had the honour of composing a soundtrack for the movie, and he did a pretty good job. The playlist includes songs like, It’s Good S**t Lieutenant, Prayer, and God’s Gun.
With Stargirl releasing its soundtrack recently, fans have already left shiny reviews of its lineup. Grace VanderWaal’s acoustic version of “Be True to Your School” by the Beach Boys is one of the most catchy songs on this list. However, the star of this composition is the one she sings the same Beach Boy’s song, backed by a full marching band. She also did “We Got the Beat” by the Go-Gos, with some help from cheerleaders and a crowd. Overall, there’s a lot of effort that went into making this soundtrack, and it really paid off, with movie sales going through the roof and the album flying off the shelves like hotcakes.
